Our little kindergartner

Somehow we blinked and our little Lucy isnt little anymore.  She is now officially a kindergartner and we (mostly me and Anna Claire) hardly know how to handle it.  It helps us trememdously that she only goes til 12:20 each day.  She on the other hand is loving every.single.minute!  She has a sweet teacher who we love and lots of old and new sweet  friends in her class.

Before school started we bought Lucy her own alarm clock..princess of course and she has amazed us!  As soon as the alarm hits 7:00 a.m. she pops out of bed on her own and is ready to go.  She has proven to be ready for kindergarten with loving homework, reading practice, new friends, and her new school.  We couldnt be more proud of her!

The school year has kept us busy with lots of fun activities.  A few weeks ago her school celebrated their tradition of Jr./Sr. Kindergarten Clown Parade.

There were the cutest little clowns prancing all around and a really fun carnival with games, candy, popcorn, and cotton candy.

It was all culminated with a parade around the campus and across the football field.  How cute are these little clowns?

Before Lucy's first birthday I began praying that the Lord would give me a verse to cling to and pray over her life.  I wanted to be able to share this blessing with our family and closest friends who would be at her  first birthday party.  I didn't want her party to be about fun and decorations but about this blessing He had given us for her life.  He was faithful to give me both a blessing and a promise for her.  Her birthday is Feb. 14 and on Feb. 13th in my One Year Bible these words stood out to me over and over:

Exodus 33: 12-17
Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ 13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”
14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
15 Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. 16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us?What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
17 And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.”

and Exodus 34:5-9
Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”
Moses bowed to the ground at once and worshiped. “Lord,” he said, “if I have found favor in your eyes, then let the Lord go with us.Although this is a stiff-necked  people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance.”

I prayed from that day on that His presence would go with her.  That it would be His presence that distinguished her from all the other people around her..not her outward appearance, not her friends, or her possessions but His presence.  I pray that He will be pleased with her and find favor with her.  I pray that mine and Micah's sin although repented of shall not follow her. I pray that she will share in His inheritance as His daughter.

From her first birthday to her last breathe I pray that He will be with her and that she will walk in His rest.  And while I wish I could be with her at all times I can rest in knowing that He is and that brings such comfort.  Praise God from Whom all blessings flow.
